Inner Spark Creative is looking for interns to assist us in our mission to bring creative marketing solutions to Auburn and its surrounding communities. We wish to mentor a new generation of designers and marketers while coming our town's rescue.

Due to the size and structure of Inner Spark Creative, an intern can be confident that they will be exposed to the whole creative process, start to finish, in a variety of project types. Our Art Director, an Auburn University Alumnus, is a graphic designer by training and experience. Our Creative Director, a graphic designer and social media strategist, is the recipient of a National ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation. These two will work hand in hand to ensure all interns have an enlightening and enjoyable experience while at our agency.

Hours/Work Schedule:

Interns should be available 10-20 hrs/week. Start date can be at earliest convenience. Work period can span one semester or two semesters, as needed. The agency can be flexible in forming a schedule that meets the requirements of the university departments while suiting the schedule of the student.

Marketing/Communications Intern:

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in writing for web/social media
  • Organizational skills, maintaining version logs and records of progress
  • Strong knowledge of current and past trends of social media marketing
  • Ability to brainstorm with a team to develop unconventional solutions
  • Strong sense of typography considered an asset, but not required
  • Proficiency in design applications (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) considered an asset, but not required
  • Basic HTML considered an asset, but not required
  • Pastry cooking abilities considered an asset, but not required

Potential Responsibilities:

  • Curating content for social media clients
  • Aid in the brainstorming of promotions and concepts for campaigns
  • Collaborate with creative director in strategy formation for social media clients
  • Contribute brief blog posts to the Inner Spark Creative blog describing their learning experiences at ISC
  • Aid in writing copy for printed and web materials for ISC and/or their clients
  • Accompany a partner on sales calls
  • Participate in the conception and execution of ISC's philanthropic projects
  • Learn and have fun while aiding ISC in bringing creative solutions to the area's economy

Design Intern

Desired Skills:

  • Strong sense of typography
  • Proficiency in design applications (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience in Muse considered an asset, but not required
  • Illustration skill considered an asset, but not required
  • Basic HTML considered an asset, but not required
  • Pastry cooking abilities considered an asset, but not required

Potential Responsibilities:

  • Consult alongside partners with clients on creative direction
  • Develop graphic content for social media clients
  • Collaborate with creative and art directors in the brainstorming of concepts for printed collateral
  • Collaborate with creative and art directors in branding projects
  • Create graphics for articles on the Inner Spark Creative blog
  • Contribute brief blog posts to the Inner Spark Creative blog describing their learning experiences at ISC
  • Accompany partners on sales calls
  • Participate in the conception and execution of ISC's philanthropic projects
  • Learn and have fun while aiding ISC in bringing creative solutions to the area's economy

Currently these opportunities are unpaid internships. However, we are accredited with the AU Department of Design. Inner Spark Creative also has the intent to hire a part-time designer and/or marketer in the near future from a pool of former interns.
