While we have greatly enjoyed portrait photography, Joel has always loved creating images for advertising. Even when he was a college student studying photography, his passion was commercial and architectural photography. When Joel moved to Auburn in 1988, it was to work at Auburn University as their photographer, photographing everything from sports to lab research to events.
In 2012 and 2013, a number of factors made it clear that it was time for a change. Many portrait photographers were going out of business all across the country due to a reduction in demand. Joel's son, Jarrett graduated from UWF with a degree in advertising and had been working in that field. His nephew, Dayton, had received his Graphic Design degree from Auburn a few years prior and was also looking for a change in direction. In the fall of 2013, the three of them decided it was time to form a new advertising agency in Auburn. It seemed that between the three of them, that they had the skill set needed to make an advertising agency successful.
In March of 2014 they launched Inner Spark Creative, operating out of the same offices that had been Moore Studios for so many years. Their business is continuing to grow and it is exciting to help business succeed as we come out of this recession.
Moore Studios now operates as part of Inner Spark Creative. Joel still enjoys portraiture but because of the demands of the advertising agency, many props, etc, have been placed into storage and are not available on a regular basis.
